High speed face milling experiments on AerMet100 steel are conducted by using nano-TiAlN coated cemented carbide tools. By analyzing the data of experiments
law of tool life affected by cutting speed and feed per tooth is obtained. Through comparative analysis
a good wear resistance ultra-fi ne grain carbide material is suggested to be used as the tool substrate material under the condition of the lower speed milling
while high-toughness fi ne-grained carbide is suggested under the condition of high-speed milling.
