The dominant factors affecting tool life are analyzed. According to the nonlinear relationship between factors and tool life

the tool life prediction model based on BP neural network is built up and the computing and demonstration are carried out by using this model. The results show that the model prediction value is very closed to the expected value of tool life

so the model is proved to be reliable and effective.
