Progress on Hot-Forming Techniques of High Temperature TiAl Alloys
γ -TiAl-based alloys have superior high temperature performances which make them to be the important candidate materials in the service temperature range of 650-900℃ for aeroengines. This paper has reviewed the current development and application of TiAl alloys
and the progresses on hot-processing techniques have been stressed in terms of ingot-melting
foundry
canned-forging and canned-extrusion
etc. Opportunities and challenges in low-costs near-net shape forming technique for TiAl alloys have been identified.
