Creep age-forming is a metal forming process that combines creep forming with age strengthening. In consideration of the big unloading springback value for the forming parts
it’s very important to predict the springback and optimize the tooling profile. For the creep age-forming of LY12
we fix the classical creep constitutive equation and develop it as a ABAQUS/CREEP subroutine. we simulate the creep and springback process and establish the springback function of LY12
and the accuracy of the predicted value is verified by experiments. Using the variable deviation adjusting algorithm
combines with ABAQUS/CREEP for the optimization of tooling profile
through 7 iterations
we get the profile accuracy of 97.9%. Results show this combinatorial optimization method is fast and owns high accuracy.
