Parameters Optimization of Fine Milling Titanium Alloy TB6 Based on Combined Process of Milling, Polishing and Shot Peening
Titanium alloy TB6 is an important material in the field of aerospace manufacturing
and it is a typical hard-to-process material. Experiments were conducted to optimize the milling parameter of combined processes of milling
polishing and shot peening. The results indicated that surface roughness is mainly influenced by feed engagement (fz). When fz 0.2mm/z
the milling hardening is high and the surface roughness after shot peening was stable and correspondingly low. When fz 0.2mm/z
milling hardening declines and surface roughness after shot peening rises according to the rise of fz. When linear velocity vs is between 20m/min and 40m/min
milling hardening declines and surface roughness after shot peening rises according to the rise of vs. When vs is between 40m/min and 50m/min
milling hardening rises and surface roughness after shot peening declines according to the rise of vs. The influence of cutting width ae on hardening and surface roughness was not significant. The optimization results of milling parameters based on combined progresses of milling and shot peening are vs=50m/min
fz =0.2mm/z
ae=1.0mm. After polishing is added
feed engagement (fz) could be improved under 0.4mm/z.
