higher requirements are put forward for the thermal barrier coatings applied on the surface of engine hot end parts. For YSZ materials can not meet the requirements of higher temperature and better thermal insulation
the development and application of new thermal barrier coating materials are attracting more and more attention worldwide. Gadolinium zirconate is one of the most promising ceramic materials for thermal barrier coatings due to its low thermal conductivity
high phase transition temperature and high thermal expansion coefficient. Based on the published literature
the research progress on gadolinium zirconate thermal barrier coatings is summarized in detail. Firstly
the research status of thermal barrier coating materials and preparation technology is briefly introduced. Secondly
the properties of gadolinium zirconate materials and the properties of gadolinium zirconate thermal barrier coating prepared by different processes are expounded in detail. Finally
the existing problems of gadolinium zirconate materials and the application prospect of preparing gadolinium zirconate coating by plasma spray-physical vapor deposition (PS-PVD) are discussed.
