The effect of the surface texturing pretreatment of the substrate on the overall performance of the coatings has been initially confirmed. The existing fabrication technologies
advantages and disadvantages
and the key design parameters of surface textures are reviewed. The application of surface texturing technology in mechanical processing
medicine
micro-nano electromechanical system and other fields is summarized. The research status of the synergistic effect between the substrate surface textures and the soft/hard coatings is introduced. From the perspectives of the surface properties and interface properties of the coatings
the synergistic mechanism of the surface texturing pretreatment to improve the overall performance of the coatings was discussed. Finally
the way forward of textured coatings is prospected in order to provide theoretical guidance and reference for the subsequent more in-depth research work of textured coatings.
